A number of collective farms and state farms have shown their achievements in the breeding and use of herding dogs. Service breeds were demonstrated by the best in the country special kennels of the Leningrad and Moscow State Farms, the Civil Air Fleet, DOSAAF and other best service dog breeding clubs showed excellent results in breeding and training dogs. Hunting dog kennels owned by hunting societies and various organizations also demonstrated their achievements and the best livestock, among which a pack of Russian piebald hounds belonging to the Tula Hunting Society aroused particular interest.

P. Mazover, an expert of the All—Union category in service. The best expert specialists were involved in the composition of the breed commission.
The examination was carried out by 30 commissions, including: in hunting dog breeding — 13, in service dog breeding — 16, in decorative — 1.
The commissions conducted an expert examination on a special provision developed on the basis of the current rules. The assessment of hunting dogs was carried out using a comprehensive method (bonitirovka), covering the indicators of appearance and constitution, hunting qualities, origin and offspring. Service dogs were evaluated, according to the rules, according to their appearance and constitution, and the breeding group according to the same complex as hunting dogs.
The dogs of hunting breeds, which received the elite class as a result of the bonus training, were awarded Large gold medals at the exhibition. Those assigned to the first class are Small gold medals and silver medals to the second class. The best male and female in each breed, who took first place in the elite class, were awarded the exhibition championship with a champion medal and a prize.
Accordingly, service dogs were awarded a Large gold medal when they received an excellent grade in constitution and appearance, a Small gold medal when they received a very good grade, and a silver medal when they received a good grade.
